Dr Jason Reddy is very much a ' Bedford ' boy.
His parents (both Durban-born doctors of the South-African /Indian diaspora) worked in South Africa , Uganda and Nigeria where Jason was born on their 'working travels' in 1966. They emigrated to Liverpool in 1970 and then moved to Bedford in 1979 where
Jason attended Bedford School from 13 to 18years.
His medical school training was at UCH/MIDDLESEX in London and he qualified in 1990. He then went on to do his GP training in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes before taking up a GP post in Buckingham in 1994. However, the travel bug had it's grip and Dr Reddy joined P&O/Princess Cruise lines later in 1994 as a Ship's Doctor.
His initial plan was to be at sea for 1 year, however he stayed for 8! and met his wife Cathy. He came ashore in 2001 after getting married in Canada and took up a full time post with BUPA in London before being lured back to the NHS, initially at a surgery in central Bedford , then as a regular locum here from early 2005. He took up a permanent post here in October 2005 and hopes to flourish in the wonderful atmosphere of The Village Medical Centre.
