Ashia Jamal B.S.c MCSP

Ashia is a chartered physiotherapist and is registered with the Health Profesions Council (HPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and a member of the Acupuncture Association (AACP) and the Private Practitioners Association (OCPPP). Ashia graduated in South Africa with a four year Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy in 1977. She has a broad based experience in Private Practice for over 25 years. She has lived in South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom.

She has served on the National Executive Committee of the South African Society of Physiotherapy and has represented the profesion in South Africa locally, Nationally and Internationally, and has attended various World Confederation Council Meetings and Congress in Bulawayo, Cape Town, London, Washington and Barcelona.

She has developed a global perspective of physiotherapy and remains commited to ongoing Continuing Professional Development and to evidence-based practice and thereby maintains a high quality care and standard of practice.

Ashia has developed special interests in neuro-musculoskeltal problems, including spinal and peripheral problems and rehabilitation of sports injuries.
She has completed post graduate courses in Acupuncture and in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy.

She believes in thorough assessment and treatment based on the biopsychosocial model and this is tailored to meet individual patient needs.

Ashia is registered with all major insurance companies including BUPA and PPP.

  How Can Physiotherapy Help?

The Practice offers prompt and individual treatment for a wide range of conditions. Many of these injuries are due to sport, but can also be caused by gardening, housework or occupational stress and strains.

A Chartered Physiotherapist is extensively trained in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.

When there are problems with the spine, joints or soft tissues, the Chartered Physiotherapist has a range of skills to treat the condition.

    How to make an Appointment:

    Whilst we maintain close links with GP's and Consultants, it is not necessary to have a doctors referral to attend the practice for physiotherapy treatment.
