The normal place to see the doctor is at the surgery where we have all the equipment and facilities. In addition we can normally see three patients in surgery in the time needed for one house call.
We will of course visit patients at home where this is medically necessary but in everyone's interest this service is reserved only for those who are too ill or infirm to be brought to the surgery.
Most conditions including those involving a raised temperature, will not be made worse by a short trip to the surgery. Children in particular, if wrapped up, often seem to benefit from the fresh air. In addition they will usually be seen more quickly.
If you think you may need a home visit please be sure to telephone the surgery on:
Telephone:
01234 244000
As early as possible in the morning and by 11:00 at the latest.
This is because time is set aside at the end of the morning for necessary house calls.
At other times the doctor will be fully occupied with other patients and house calls will only be made in a genuine emergency.
